Who is Chefs with Compassion?
Since its inception as a response to the first lockdown in 2020, which left many people out of work and vulnerable, Chefs with Compassion has served more than 3.3-million meals through our network of more than 30 community kitchens. We rescue food that would otherwise go to waste, cook through our network of community chefs, and feed the most food vulnerable in communities across Joburg. To date, Chefs with Compassion has rescued 1.5-million kilograms of food. In July this year, our #67000litres campaign ensured 350 000 people received a hearty cup of soup in commemoration of Mandela Day.
How is Chefs with Compassion involved in the Delicious Festival?
In the spirit of ubuntu, the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival and its partners hope to raise R500 000 to help Chefs with Compassion continue feeding those who have fallen on hard times.
